White Rock Lake is one of the most, if not the most, beautiful places in Dallas.  People visiting
from Europe comment on how pretty the area is and say it reminds them of some of the best
parks in their country.  It truly is a fantastic park that everyone can enjoy.  There are miles of
bike trails right on the waters edge and many places to stop and admire the lake.

My parents and grandparents were around when you could swim in the lake before the runoff
from all the gas powered cars in Dallas polluted it above a safe level.  They told me about a
swim park by the big building on the east side that is still there today.  Can you imagine if
everyone had electric vehicles the lake would return to its un-polluted state and you could
again swim there?  Wow!

Off topic:  My wife and I had our first kiss on a picnic blanket on the east side as the sun was
setting over the water on a beautiful spring day in 1994.  Oh, the memories.  Was that TMI?
Oops, sorry.
